We’re delighted to announce an exciting opportunity in collaboration with our friends at 42 Acres — a regenerative estate, nature reserve, and wellbeing retreat centre, nestled deep in Somerset land. Be The Earth Foundation is offering 15 grants of between £6,000 - £8,000 to support aligned individuals and organisations in hosting their own retreats at this beautiful, soul-nourishing place.
The 42 Acres Retreat Subsidy Pot
Now in its second year, the Retreat Subsidy Pot was created to nurture work that honours self, community, and nature. At Be The Earth, we believe that retreats — spacious time together in nature, away from the rush of daily life — are vital for deep connection, reflection, and regeneration. For a different way of being in the world.
This year, we’re inviting applications from those whose retreats resonate with one or more of the following themes:
💛 Food & farming
💛 Women
💛 Indigenous peoples
💛 Living in a more-than-human world
💛 Families & children
We see these as essential threads in weaving the more beautiful world our hearts know is possible.
Grant Details
We’ll be awarding 15 grants towards covering the cost of a 3-night retreat at 42 Acres during 2026.
Depending on the size and season of your retreat, we’re offering six different grant options:
🏡 HALF SITE: Hermitage (low season) — £6,000 — 4 Grants (max 12 guests)
🏡 HALF SITE: Farmhouse (low season) — £6,000 — 3 Grants (max 28 guests)
🏡 HALF SITE: Hermitage (high season) — £6,000 — 2 Grants (max 12 guests)
🏡 HALF SITE: Farmhouse (high season) — £6,000 — 2 Grants (max 28 guests)
🏡 FULL SITE (high season, incl. Tiny Boat & Campsite) — £8,000 — 2 Grants (max 47 guests)
🏡 FULL SITE (low season, excl. Tiny Boat & Campsite) — £8,000 — 2 Grant (max 41 guests)
There are 9 grants available for low season (1st October to 31st March) and 6 for high season (1st April to 30th September).
When applying, you'll be asked to choose one of the six options above — so please consider your group size and preferred calendar month carefully.
Important to Know
Costs:
The grant will not cover the full cost of your retreat: grantees will be responsible for paying the surplus. Retreat rates for 2026 with full breakdowns can be found HERE.
Retreat rates given are for a 3 nights, week day retreat, with 30% discount applied to accommodation on 3rd night.
Weekend bookings and high season bookings will incur higher costs than weekday and low season bookings.
Booking:
You must book the grant option (e.g., Full Site - High Season) that you have selected on the application form. If this is not honoured, then your grant will be offered to someone else.
Due to the high volume of bookings at 42 Acres, we encourage you to make your booking as soon as the grant has been awarded and not later than the end of January 2026.
Payment:
You will be required to pay a 10% deposit of the grant you receive to secure your booking with 42 Acres (e.g. if you receive the £6k grant, you will need to pay £600 upon booking).
If you are successful, funds will be transferred directly to 42 Acres and deducted from your final invoice.
The 42 Acres Experience: More Than Just a Retreat
42 Acres is a place where nature, wellbeing, and regeneration meet. Set across 173 acres of wild spaces, ancient woodlands, and a seven-acre lake, this regenerative retreat centre offers transformative experiences for those seeking to reconnect with nature and themselves.
From their “Soil to Gut" menu — featuring meals prepared with ingredients grown and foraged right on the estate — to immersive activities like yoga, wild swimming, and foraging workshops, every moment at 42 Acres is designed to nourish body and soul. You can explore the estate’s natural beauty on a beaver walk or unwind in the wood-fired sauna.
With over a decade of experience hosting restorative retreats and team-building activities, 42 Acres specialises in creating spaces where creativity, connection, and growth can flourish. Whether you're planning a small group gathering or a larger event, the space can accommodate various needs.
Why Apply?
This opportunity is more than just financial support — it’s about creating a space for transformative experiences. Whether you’re a leader looking to deepen your team’s connection, an activist seeking communal rejuvenation, or a facilitator looking to hold a healing space, this is your chance to host a meaningful retreat in a truly unique setting.
Additionally, grantees will receive a generous discount from 42 Acres when securing a follow up booking for 2027.
